Alumni in the Spotlight
Carol Arnold
CCC Alum, Class of 1973
One of the torchbearers from the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, came to 黑料正能量, to talk with college students about being part of the Olympic History in the Adirondacks.
North Country native Carol Arnold was one of the members of the relay team that ran from Virginia to Lake Placid to light the torch to kick-off the 1980 Winter Games. Arnold, who grew up in Keeseville, was living in, and represented, the state of Delaware. She described her memories of the torch run and opening ceremonies and told students how the experience was the honor of a lifetime. Those in the crowd got to hold and take pictures of the actual torch that Carol carried along the relay route.

Matthew Bergeron, Senior Counsel, New York State United Teachers
CCC Alum, Class of 1997, Associates in Liberal Arts: Humanities & Social Science
"Education isn鈥檛 something that should be out of reach simply because of financial constraints. After I graduated high school, I already had six college credits under my belt thanks to the CAP program. And during my time at CCC, I learned not only academic subjects, but also life lessons which I don鈥檛 believe I could have gleaned on a large college campus of thousands. I truly believe that as we move further on in life, it鈥檚 our duty to give back to our communities in any way we can, because 鈥渨e all do better when we all do better."

Joseph W. Gonsalves II, Vice President, Saluda Grade Advisory
CCC Alum, Class of 1998, Associates in Applied Science in Business Administration, Men's Basketball
"Being a student-athlete was the only reason I graduated from CCC. The skills I developed to handle practice, games, and schoolwork shaped my constitution and assisted me in getting my AAS in business administration and then my bachelor's in marketing from Plattsburgh State University. I continue to rely on these same skills to help propel my professional career forward today. I am grateful and appreciate what CCC afforded me as a student and athlete."
